Our History

Grace Baptist Church of Arlington constituted on July 5, 2009. Many of the charter members had been members of Capitol Hill Baptist Church (CHBC) in Washington, DC previously and had a desire to advance the gospel in Arlington and Northern Virginia. Most of the charter members lived in Arlington or in other parts of Northern Virginia, but were commuting to Capitol Hill to hear the faithful preaching of God’s Word. Desirous to be a part of a church in the community in which they lived, these members followed Mike Law Jr. from CHBC, and began meeting together in an Arlington home in June 2009 to sing, pray, and hear from God’s Word. In July, we covenanted with one another, constituted as a church, and called Mike Law Jr. as our pastor. Our vision is the same that it was in the beginning – to advance the gospel in Arlington County, by God’s grace.

Our Pastor

In the midst of studying Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland, Mike Law Jr. began to desire to spend his life teaching others what it means to follow Jesus. After serving as the chaplain at a summer camp for two years, the desire grew stronger and Mike was compelled to pursue vocational ministry. Mike was a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., where he completed the Pastoral Internship and then went on to serve as Mark Dever’s Pastoral Assistant for three years. During that time, Mike began taking seminary courses through The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, which he continues. Mike and his family live in Arlington where they endeavor to glorify God through proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
